This little house is part of the heritage of the city of Mexicali and although it is very old, Dr. Evangelina envisioned it as the ideal place for her dental clinic.//Esta casita forma parte del patrimonio de la ciudad de Mexicali y aunque es muy antigua, la Dra. Evangelina visualizó en ella el lugar ideal para su consultorio.

An effort was made to preserve most of what already existed, adapting it to the needs and concept of the project; for instance, instead of covering the small niches in the existing walls, we decided to transform them into the home and office of the tooth mouse.//Se procuró conservar gran parte de lo existente adaptándolo a las necesidades y concepto del proyecto; por ejemplo, en lugar de cubrir los nichitos o huequitos en las paredes existentes se decidió convertirlos en el hogar y oficina del ratón de los dientes.

The open spaces facilitate lighting, ventilation and visually enlarges the space; however this can also cause echo and excessive noise; for this reason, it was proposed to place acoustic panels designed with the purpose of reducing noise and contributing to the concept.//Los espacios abiertos facilitan tanto la iluminación, ventilación y visualmente el espacio se amplía; sin embargo, esto también puede causar eco y ruido excesivo; por esta razón se propuso colocar paneles acústicos diseñados con el propósito de disminuir el ruido y aportar al concepto.

One of the inspirations for this project was Disney's UP cartoon, and we wanted to capture it with a mural of balloons that starts from the bookcase with the shape of a little house and runs towards the dental cubicles, generating a visual journey for the children.//Una de las inspiraciones para este proyecto fue la caricatura de UP de Disney y lo quisimos plasmar con un mural de globos que arranca del librero en forma de casita y corre hacia los cubículos dentales, generando un recorrido visual para los niños.

“Que me hace sonreir” (What makes me smile) is a space to share everything that makes you smile and precisely our purpose is that the design of the office provokes part of those smiles.//”Que me hace sonreír” es un espacio para compartir todo aquello que te hace sonreír y precisamente nuestro propósito es que el diseño del consultorio provoque parte de esas sonrisas.
